Are Ready Made Google AdSense Sites Scams?

Recently there are many discussion about if we should take the shortcut to buying AdSense ready sites instead of building your own from scratch. In this post, I am trying to explain moderately what I think about this business model, either the product is useful to end-users or simply a junk. May be you can make it work too in certain situation.

If you search on eBay, especially in the Business for Sale category, you will find a lot of listings selling ready-made AdSense sites. Some eBayers sell a bunch of articles in different topics, while other package the articles in chunks and deliver the final product in a cleaner manner.

You should be able to find an AdSense site specific to a niche, including hundreds of articles, complete with a professional website template. All you have to do, if you buy one of these, is to find a hosting (some even provide them for free), upload the files and you are ready to go. That’s all as said in the advertisement. But is that all?

Obviously not. If you stop there, you may start wondering why there is no traffic to your site, even no spider care to visit you. Well, if you plan to follow the Google arbitrage business model then this is an entirely different story. But following that model, you won’t need such a huge site anyway.

Most AdSense ready sites are just scraped sites, meaning they are collections of articles from article directories or any other publicly available materials. When you put this kind of site up, they are just duplicate content of what currently available on the Internet.

If you depend on Google and other search engines for traffic (which is the case with content-rich sites), chances are you won’t get very far with it.

Recently, there are many membership sites offering ready made AdSense sites which consist of unique content. They may not solve the duplicate content issue above. But if you act fast enough, you will be one of the first to hit the search engines with the content.

The rest is up to you, whether you are going to expand the site or let it be just another unproductive site.

So the point is, not all ready made sites are bad. They may help you start a profitable website faster. Still if you are to go for a long term business then you have to put significant effort to make the site unique and useful to both human visitors and search engines.

Provide yourself with some website marketing tools and strategies, you can expand it beyond contextual advertising.

Some publishers decide to sell half-established sites, which have been indexed by Google, Yahoo! and MSN and possibly other search engines. These sites may even earn some money from AdSense or Yahoo! Publisher Network but for some reason want to cash-in by selling it quickly.

This type of site will be far more expensive. Be smart and do your own due deligence. Perhaps this is the best value you can buy if you plan to invest some effort into it.

And no, I have no specific preference to any ready made AdSense website provider.

Personally I think these are scams. But if someone can make them work for their profit then give it a try.

Although many ready made sites are little more than scraped sites, as you mentioned, it is not necessarily true that all auto-generated sites consist of scraped pages.

It is possible to use auto-generators to produce quality content sites from articles, either from article directories or from PLR articles.
