Dave Taylor confirms the rumor about Google introducing a new advertise on this site feature for AdSense Premium participants.

His colleage and friend Tim Carter of AskTheBuilder.com has jus told him that he’s in a beta program from Google, which put a new link on the Google AdSense block:

What’s great about this new beta program is that finaly AdWords advertisers can bid on specific web sites as they want.

I don’t think this program will open in near future for non premium publishers so meanwhile we just have to wait for Google to officially reveal how it works. Or let’s just hope that one of them will actually keep us updated on the program.

This is very exciting news for us involved in Google advertising prorams.

I am looking forward to see how Google make it works. While Google can attract much more advertisers than if the individual site provides their in-house advertising program, the benefit and ROI have to be higher than the latter too.

What prevents premium publishers to switch when they can purchase a customized solutions relatively inexpensive nowadays isn’t just about finding advertisers, which I believe of little problem for site as large as theirs.

The problem for publishers is more about acquiring, billing and other maintenance matters. At the end of the day, building a customized program which has as rich features as AdSense has might not be an easy task.
